Disease progression

Cancer Center members are identifying factors either intrinsic to the tumor or at play in the host that influence cancer susceptibility and tumor progression. The goals are to A) determine molecular mechanisms regulating programmed cell death and their failure in tumor progression; B) understand the molecular and genetic factors regulating angiogenesis and their role in tumor progression; C) understand the relationship between metabolic and hormonal factors and cancer susceptibility and progression; and D) determine how aging affects cancer susceptibility and progression.
