Cross Information

Please provide information about the experiment cross.

Short name for cross *:

  • The short name for cross will be used as title for this data set. There is no strict format requirement but we recommend that it should contain the PI's name, the cross name and a phenotype.
  • Example: Paigen_AxB_hypertension was submitted by B. Paigen. It is an A/J by C57BL/6J backcross study of hypertension.

Description *:

  • A short description of the experimental design and the purpose of the study can be posted here.

Cross type *:

Select the cross type from the list:

Full names of each strain and abbreviations *:

  • Please provide the full name for each strain using correct nomenclature. Also provide any abbreviation used in the data file.
  • For example, full name for Strain 1 is C57BL/6J, abbreviation is B.
  • For RI panels, provide the names of parental strains of the panel.

Strain 2 *

Strain 3

Strain 4

Link strain name to strain-specific genotype abbreviations in data file *

  • For example, input "0=AA, 1=AB, 2=BB, -=missing" means in the data file, "0" represents homozygous AA, "2" represents homozygous BB, "1" represents heterozygous AB and "-" represents missing data.
  • Please use strain abbreviation as above

phenotype information *

  • For each phenotype provide a short abbreviation as used in the data file. Provide a full name (if applicable) and a short description.
  • Example: bp - systolic blood pressure measured by tail cuff method using a Visitech device.

Literature

  • Please provide references to any paper(s) in which the data appear. Indicate the primary publication, which can be cited as the source of the data.
  • For example, Sugiyama, F, Churchill, GA, Higgins, DC, Johns, C, Makaritsis, KP, Gavras, H, and Paigen, B (2001) Concordance of Murine Quantitative Trait Loci for Salt-Induced Hypertension with Rat and Human Loci, Genomics, 71:70-77.

At this time our preferred format is R/qtl csv (comma seperated values file). See descriptions of csv format here. Note that R/qtl can read many standard formats and will write a csv formatted file.
