Installation guide for J/qtl

Minimum Requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Mac OS X 10.4 or greater
  • The memory requirement depends on the size of the input data but a minimum of 512MB memory is recommended.
  • R 2.7.0 or greater
  • R/qtl 1.08 or greater
  • Java 5.0 or greater


Installation

 
1. Download and install Java

If you already have Java 5.0 or greater installed you can skip this step (Mac OS X 10.4 or greater should have a compatible version of Java installed by default) otherwise visit http://www.java.com to download and install the latest version of Java.

2.  Download and install R

If you already have R 2.7.0 or greater installed you can skip this step, otherwise you should go to http://cran.r-project.org to download and install the latest version of R.

3. Install R/qtl inside R

This step is optional since J/qtl will attempt to install the latest version of R/qtl for you if it does not detect a compatible installation of R/qlt. You can obtain R/qtl from here and follow the manual to install it.

5. Download J/qtl
