Welcome to the Harrison Laboratory!

The Harrison Lab website provides information about our research programs, which include 2 main areas of mouse genetics: gerontology and hematology. You'll also find other information related to the Harrison Lab.

Gerontology: Mechanisms of Aging
Our research in gerontology focuses on the development and testing of hypotheses about the causes of aging in mice. Our long term goal is for our research to lead to longer, healthier lives for humans.

Learn about our study of rapamycin treatment in mice—started at middle age—that extended their lifespan…

Hematology: Stem Cells

Our research in hematology focuses on molecular genetic mechanisms that regulate differentiation, self-renewal, and aging in stem cells. Our long term goal is for our research to lead to safer and more effective treatments for human diseases.
