Veterinarian postdoctoral training in biomedical research and mouse genetics
The Jackson Laboratory, a basic-research institution focused on genetics of the laboratory mouse, invites applications to a postdoctoral research training program for veterinarians. This 3 year program offers mentor-based training in normal mammalian development and in animal models of human disease.
Major emphasis is placed on:
- Genome organization
- Developmental biology
- Metabolic diseases
- Neurogenetics
- Genetics of complex traits
- Cancer genetics
- Immunology-hematology
- Bioinformatics
Options for Ph.D. program, and partial preparation for certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and/or American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine are possible in association with the core program in mammalian genetics.
