The Jackson Laboratory is partnering with Kent Scientific Corporation to award full scholarships for participants to attend our workshops on Making & Genetically Manipulating Mouse Embryos, Stereotaxic Surgery in the Laboratory Mouse, Surgical Techniques in the Laboratory Mouse (Paris), Colony Management & Biomethods, and Vascular Catheterization in the Laboratory Mouse. To be considered for a Kent Scientific Scholarship award or reduced fees, please select the select the Scholarship Applicant type at registration and provide further details.
Scholarship funds will offset a portion of the registration fee for educational programs; in rare cases, scholarships will be awarded to cover the full registration fee. Even if awarded a full scholarship, funds will not cover travel costs to and from the event or the lodging fees. Funds will not be sent to scholarship awardees; rather funds are credited to applicants who register to take the course.
Virtual Events: Scholarship application is includes within the course registration and will require a written statement describing your financial need. A minimum of 50% registration fee payment will be due at time of registration.
In-Person Events: Scholarships are reviewed periodically. Applicants will be notified by email with award.The scholarship application is included within the course application and/or registration and will require:
A written statement of financial need (100-250 words)
A written statement describing how the course/workshop will foster your academic or career objectives (100-250 words)
Payment is not due at the time of application, but will be due within 2 weeks of registration acceptance or 45 days from the start of the course, whichever comes first. If payment information is provided at time of application, a hold will be placed on your card for up to 7 days. If acceptance has not been made within that time, the hold will be released.
