View moreThe Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is collaborating with Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) and Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) to offer apprenticeships to students enrolled in specific technical programs. These apprenticeships provide practical experience and the potential for full-time employment at JAX with a family-sustaining wage upon completion. Participants receive an hourly wage during their apprenticeship and a competitive salary after graduation. Additionally, JAX offers a cost remission program, contributing $14,000 for EMCC and $30,000 for MMA apprentices towards college expenses, contingent on meeting performance standards and committing to work at JAX for at least two years post-graduation. Eligible students must be full-time enrollees in programs such as Electronics Technology, HVAC, Stationary Engineering, Electrical, General Mechanics, or Plumbing, and maintain satisfactory academic performance.
